Ms. Michele was born and raised on Long Island, New York. She relocated to Charlotte, NC in 1990, to be closer to her family. She resides in Charlotte with her life partner, Robert and a small menagerie of animals, including a Rottweiler named Bristol and a bunny named Humphrey. Prior to joining Charlotte Montessori school, she taught a variety of grades and subjects for the past thirty-five years. She fell in love with the Montessori philosophy and spent seventeen years teaching 9-12 year olds at a local Montessori school.
In her free time, Ms. Michele loves spending time in nature and reading. She is a licensed NC Wildlife Rehabilitator, and specializes in raising and releasing injured/orphaned Eastern Cottontails. She is one of the founding members of New Leaf Wildlife Rehab, a non-profit created in response to the rapidly diminishing natural space creating displaced native wildlife at an alarming rate. She is very excited to begin her journey at Charlotte Montessori school.
